Platting Coordinator is responsible for coordinating multiple projects within the Houston area and coordinate projects throughout the entire plat submittal and approval process.
General Responsibilities:
- Must be able to coordinate multiple projects, within the Houston area, throughout the entire plat submittal and approval process.
- Must be able to work directly with other consultants, engineering teams and clients to manage the platting process, schedules and budgets as they relate to the platting of these projects.
- When necessary, must be able to provide basic land planning and platting expertise.
- Should know the platting regulations for most agencies in the Houston area.
- When required, must be able to represent the projects with the governmental agencies and must be able to present plats approval applications to the various planning staff, Planning Commissions and City Councils for approval.
- This position will require some supervisory responsibilities and the ability to work with a team.
Required Education/Licenses:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Required Experience:
- 5 – 10 years’ experience dealing directly in the Subdivision Platting industry; either with a surveying or engineering firms.
- Experience working with the local, Houston area, city or county agencies.
- Knowledgeable, in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project software programs.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to driving to various agencies within the Houston area for outside meetings.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine problems and/or deal with a variety of variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
